Assignable FX Control |

Assignable FX controls appear in the Mixer window. An Assignable FX control is created for each assignable effects chain that you have added to your project.
The controls in the assignable FX control are duplicated on the chain’s bus track.

To rename an assignable effects chain, double-click the chain label and type a new name in the box.

Bus Assignment |
Select the bus to which you want to route the assignable effects chain.

Assignable FX |
Displays the Audio Plug-In window so you can adjust the effects attributes. Right-click the Assignable FX button and choose a command from the shortcut menu to enable, bypass, or delete all plug-ins in the chain. | ||

Automation Settings |
The controls in the assignable effects control list can function as trim controls or automation controls for output level, panning, and muting. Click the button and verify Show Automation Controls is not selected if you want the bus control to function as a trim control. Adjusting a trim control affects the entire track. Click the button and choose Show Automation Controls to adjust automation settings. For more information about automation, click here. | ||

Mute |
Excludes the assignable effects chain from playback. Click the Mute button on additional chains to add them to the mute group. When Show Automation Controls is selected, the button is displayed as a , and you can use the button to edit mute automation on the chain’s bus track. | ||

Solo |
Plays only the output of the selected assignable effects chain. Click the Solo button on additional chains to add them to the solo group. | ||

Bus Pan |
Drag to adjust the overall panning of the assignable effects chain. When Show Automation Controls is selected, the thumb is displayed as a , and you can use the slider to edit pan automation on the chain’s bus track. Right-click the thumb and choose a pan type to change the behavior of the Pan slider. For more information about panning modes, click here. The selected panning mode is also used for pan envelopes on the bus track. | ||

Input Fader |
Adjusts the input volume of the assignable effects chain:

Output Fader |
Drag to adjust the output volume of the assignable effects chain.

|
Meter |
Displays the playback level at the output of the assignable effects chain. This is the level that will be sent to the selected audio device. Right-click the meter and choose a setting from the shortcut menu to change the resolution. | ||

Lock/Unlock Fader Channels |
Click to lock (gang) the faders so the left and right channels will always move together. Click again to unlock the faders. Hold Shift while dragging a fader to temporarily override the current state of the button: if the button is turned off, you can hold Shift to drag the faders in locked mode; if the button is selected, hold Shift to drag the faders independently. |
When multiple FX controls are selected, you can perform any of the following actions on the group:

Changing bus/hardware routing.

Muting/Soloing.

Deleting Assignable FX controls by pressing the Delete key.

Changing fader settings. If you have multiple busses and assignable effects controls selected, dragging a bus fader will adjust the output fader on selected assignable effects controls.
