The Mixer Window |

The Mixer window allows you to adjust volumes and change the attributes of Busses, Assignable FX, and the Preview bus.
From the View menu, choose Mixer to toggle the display of the window.

Audio Properties |
Opens the Audio tab in the Project Properties dialog. | ||||||
|
Downmix Output |
Downmixes your audio from 5.1 surround to stereo or from stereo to mono so you can ensure your mix will sound the way you intended it —even when your audience’s hardware has fewer channels than the original mix. The button represents the current playback mode:

Dim Output |
Attenuates the volume of all busses that are routed to hardware outputs by 20 dB so you can check your mix at a lowe | ||||||
|
Insert FX |
Creates an assignable FX chain that you can route to one or more tracks in your project. To delete an assignable FX chain, select the Assignable FX Control and press Delete. | ||||||
|
Insert Bus |
Adds a bus to your project. The Audio tab in the Project Properties dialog is updated to reflect the new number of busses. To delete a bus, select the Bus Control and press Delete. | ||||||
Preview Control |
Controls the loudness of media played through the Project Media, Trimmer, Explorer, or Media Manager window. Right-click in the Mixer and choose Show Preview Fader to toggle the display of the control if you need to conserve space in the Mixer. | |||||||
Master/Bus Control |
A bus control is displayed in the Mixer window for each bus in your project. Use the bus control to adjust levels and panning, add effects, and mute or solo the bus. | |||||||
FX Control |
An assignable FX control is displayed in the Mixer window for each assignable effects chain in your project. Use the FX control to adjust input/output levels and panning, add effects, and mute or solo the effects chain. |
When multiple bus or FX controls are selected, you can perform any of the following actions on the group:

Changing bus/hardware routing.

Muting/Soloing.

Deleting bus or FX controls by pressing the Delete key.

Changing fader settings. If you have multiple busses and assignable effects controls selected, dragging a bus fader will adjust the output fader on selected assignable effects controls.
